The clients spent most of their time outdoors, but especially enjoyed use of their deck, so this was an important item to integrate into the design. It needed to be functional enough to incorporate space for barbecuing and dining while also providing shade, privacy, storage and access to the pool patio below. Existing large trees on site provided significant privacy for the backyard already, so maintaining and integrating the trees was also imperative for their new yard. Existing grade changes from the front to the back yard presented the need for various levels in the landscape. The finished project featured three levels: the raised deck, the side yard putting green, and the pool patio.<\/p>\n\t<p><\/p>\n<h3>\n\tThe Challenge\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Inventory of large existing trees<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Significant grade change from front of yard to back<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Seamlessly integrating various levels<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Maintaining privacy thorough despite a range of grade change on surrounding properties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/proland.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/builder-faded-icon-1-300x300.png\" alt=\"builder-faded-icon\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"300\" width=\"300\"  \/>\n<h2>\n\tDesign\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>\u2018Meadow Peak\u2019 was designed to be a retreat, eliminating the hassle of driving up north. We wanted to create a space that was functional for their family and could keep them entertained for many summers to come. Retaining walls and patio spaces were constructed around large existing trees to maintain shade and privacy, the firepit lounge area, tucked beneath them. Turf areas help to break up the interlock and are a fun feature to practice your putting. With respect to the backyard renovations I have retained them to undertake, they have been able to perform under some difficult working conditions and always seem to find a way to get the job done efficiently and with very little disturbance to the immediate neighbors. Scheduling of their subcontractors was always timed perfectly to allow for the seamless progress of each component of the project.
